Williams on using apps to share secrets

Communication professor Dmitri Williams was quoted in a Montreal Gazette article about new phone applications that allow the user to anonymously reveal their secrets.

"The irony of most social networking tools is that you should feel more connected, but oftentimes feel even less human and less supported," Williams said. "Truth and depth and social support are what make the world go 'round. Anonymity is not."
