Doctoral students are encouraged to attend conventions and conferences, make presentations of research and move toward publication.
In 2005–06, USC Annenberg doctoral students reported 147 pieces of academic work, either singly authored or authored with faculty or fellow students. This includes 36 publications in scholarly journals, 27 book chapters, 1 co-authored book, 8 conference proceedings and 75 convention papers. Approximately 40 doctoral students participated in these efforts.
