Flemming Rhode

Flemming Schneider Rhode received a B.A. cum laude from the University of Richmond with majors in Rhetoric & Communication Studies, Economics, Political Science, and International Studies. He then worked for SpeakFirst coaching and teaching high school debate in Birmingham, AL. In June of 2011 he defended his thesis and earned his M.A. from the Department of Communication Studies at Wake Forest University. The thesis examined the polysemous rhetoric of the Danish government in its last months during Nazi occupation from May-August of 1943. Flemming’s chosen area of interest is in rhetoric and political communication, following both state and national politics in the U.S. and the politics of his native Denmark and more specifically public moral argument concerning economic policy.
