David Jeong is a doctoral student at the Annenberg School of Communication & Journalism. His research interests are in studying the relationship between perceptual/attentional systems and media persuasion. He is also interested in how studies how neuroscience and cognitive science research can inform classroom learning and teaching. He graduated magna cum laude from UCLA with a B.A. in Communication Studies. He also graduated from Harvard University with an Ed.M. in Mind, Brain, and Education. At UCLA, he worked in the Digital Civic Learning lab, which runs a TV News Archive that records and indexes local Los Angeles, national, and international news broadcasts from 2005 to present. At Harvard, he worked in the Understandings of Consequence Project, funded by the NSF, which identifies default assumptions about the nature of causality that students bring to their learning of science concepts.
