Renyi Hong received his B.A and M.A. in Communication Studies from the Nanyang Technological University of Singapore. For his Master’s thesis titled “Game Modding and Labour: The Influence of Websites”, Renyi examined how web interfaces can instigate the productivities of game modders, a group of audience-producers who enjoy modifying computer games. This thesis illustrates his interest in understanding the social and economic ramifications of a digitally enabled participatory culture. His current project involves examining the relations between software practices and neoliberal labor.
