This Fellowship provides a total immersion experience for six distinguished mid-career arts journalists. The Fellows -- Joshua Samuel Brown, Barbara Celis, Kelly Klaasmeyer, Neda Ulaby, Randall Roberts and Matthew Westwood -- will spend time at Frank Gehry’s firm, Bill Viola’s studio, take a "Googie" tour of L.A. with Alan Hess, and learn about Lakewood from D.J. Waldie and food from Jonathan Gold. They will teach a class to Annenberg’s specialized journalism (the arts) master’s students on Nov. 20. This year the Fellowship will focus on the visual arts and architecture of Los Angeles, with attention paid to the challenges confronting journalists working in the digital-media era.
