Johnson Communication Leadership Center presents: Diversity in the Professions, A Conversation with Richard Wayner Geoffrey Cowan Forum (ASC 207), 5:00 p.m. | |

Join students and faculty for a presentation by
Richard Wayner, co-founder of
TRACE TV and The TRUE Agency and a partner at The Keffi Group. From Mr. Wayner: “The global increase in postindustrial creative industries, demographic diversity and social mobility combine to create the optimal context for the development of ‘urban media’ online and offline. While initially defined by the leisure habits of African-American youth, from India to France to South Africa, urban media has been re-appropriated to fit the multicultural contours of fast growing urban centers in both emerging and mature markets. TRACE TV, the first international network dedicated to urban music, culture and fashion -- and now distributed in more than 130 countries in Europe, Asia and Africa -- presents an interesting case study of the media's role in shaping and reflecting ‘Transculturalism’ and exchanges that transcend traditional boundaries of race, ethnicity and language.” Refreshments will be served. RSVP requested. To RSVP, email
