Reporting on Celebrity: The Ethics of News Coverage

With an eye toward recent coverage of Michael Jackson, Kobe Bryant, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and other celebrities, USC Annenberg and the Poynter Institute present a discussion  about journalism ethics, standards, and editorial decision-making with leaders in news and entertainment, including Ed Asner, actor; Dean Baquet, managing editor, Los Angeles Times; Sue Cross, Regional director, Associated Press; Peter Bhatia, executive editor, The Oregonian; Paula Madison, vice president and general manager, NBC4 LA; Robert Scheer, columnist, Los Angeles Times and clinical professor, USC Annenberg; John Dean, former Nixon administration White House Counsel; and Leo Braudy, USC University Professor.
