Television News and Children: Developmental Differences in the Stories that Produce Fear USC Annenberg Room 207, 11:30 am | |

Public concern over childrens exposure to television news has increased in recent years, in part because of the dominance of crime and violence in such programming. In this presentation, Professor
Barbara Wilson (pictured) focuses on childrens cognitive and emotional responses to news stories featured on television. Her work explores developmental differences in how children process the news and in the types of news stories that enhance fear.
