  • Read the press release Mobile and wireless technologies are now changing our daily life in a fundamental way. In this forum, American and Japanese specialists will discuss what kind of changes are being brought about by these technologies from global perspectives. While Japan seems to be ahead of the US in the area of mobile telephone with Internet connections such as i-mode, the Japanese have just started to introduce the idea of wireless LAN connections from the US for data exchange. It is interesting, therefore, to find out about the current situations in the US, Japan and possible Europe for international comparisons and mutual learning in this rapidly advancing field. In particular, discussions will be focused on the effects on online journalism and digital entertainment as well as international comparisons. Presented by: GLOCOM (Center for Global Communications, International University of Japan), USC Annenberg School for Communication and USC East Asian Studies Center and Japan American Society of Southern California Main Sponsor: Toshiba International Foundation
