Application

Email an application request to uscgetty@usc.edu. Include your name, media affiliation(s), number of years you have been practicing arts journalism and your contact information.  In addition, please note if you have applied in the past and for what year.

Requirements for Eligibility

a center for Latino arts.

  • Candidates must be mid-career critics, reporters, writers, columnists, editors, broadcasters or producers who specialize in arts, culture or entertainment for or a newspaper, magazine, broadcast or online media organization.
  • You must have at least three years of steady professional arts journalism in your background.
  • The program is NOT intended for entry-level journalists, students or journalism educators.
  • Freelancers and/or self-employed individuals who regularly publish online, in print or over the airwaves ARE eligible, as long as their application is accompanied by a letter of recommendation by a newsroom editor/manager at an organization that regularly publishes or broadcasts their work OR by an experienced journalist who can speak to their work in convincing detail.
  • Work examples for the application must have been published or produced between May 2007 – June 2008.
  • This is a national and international program, applicants from anywhere MAY apply.
  • Advanced degrees or specialized training in the arts are NOT required.
