Offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in communication, USC Annenberg’s School of Communication provides students with an education grounded in theory with applications across the communication and media spectrum. Rooted in both the social sciences and the liberal arts, the philosophy of academic inquiry focuses on the social, cultural, rhetorical and ­organizational processes that make up the human experience. Faculty conduct research in the fields of telecommunication regulation, communication in urban communities, health ­communication, video games and the content and effects of mass media, and students in all degree programs are active participants.

Offering bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism and strategic public relations, students obtain a professional ­education that emphasizes ­writing, reporting, investigative skills and ethics. Students are taught by a world-class faculty of reporters, editors and producers – winners of Pulitzer Prizes, Emmys and virtually every other major award in ­journalism and public relations.

Distinguishing features are:
  • An innovative core curriculum, a course of study that concurrently teaches writing, editing and production for print, broadcast and online media.
  • Impact, an award-winning newsmagazine program produced by students and distributed to 22 cable outlets in Southern California; Annenberg Television News; and Annenberg News Radio.

Accredited by the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communication.
