Commencement DVD
You may purchase a DVD of the main university ceremony on the USC Commencement website.  To purchase a DVD of the Communication or Journalism satellite ceremony, download an order form online.

Main USC Ceremony
Students line up: 8 a.m., column B (see map)

Processional: 8:30 a.m.
Ceremony: 9 a.m.

Degree candidates line up for the main ceremony at 8 a.m. at column B (see map on the USC Commencement Web site). The processional will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the ceremony starting at 9 a.m. After the main ceremony is over, please head directly to McCarthy Quad or Argue Plaza — depending on your major. The flag/banner bearer will lead you into the tent and to your seats.

School of Communication Satellite Commencement Ceremony
Arrive no later than 10:15 a.m.
Ceremony: 10:30 a.m., McCarthy Quad
Reception Follows

Speaker: Jarl Mohn, Founder, E! Television Networks and new media entrepreneur

The Communication Satellite Ceremony, honoring candidates for bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in Communication, Communication Management, Global Communication and Public Diplomacy, will begin at 10:30 a.m. in McCarthy Quad (grassy area between Leavey, Doheny and PSX). If you are not attending the main ceremony, please arrive at McCarthy Quad no later than 10 a.m. Seating is on a first-come basis. Seats cannot be saved after 10:15 a.m. — all unoccupied seats must be released for other guests at 10:15 a.m. The ceremony will be under a tent, so you and your guests will be out of the sun. The ceremony will end around 12:30 p.m. Immediately following, there will be a reception for you and your guests.

School of Journalism Satellite Commencement Ceremony
Arrive no later than 10:15 a.m.
Ceremony: 10:30 a.m., Argue Plaza
Reception Follows

Speaker: Warren Olney, Host and Executive Producer of KCRW's Which Way L.A.? and To the Point

The Journalism Satellite Ceremony, honoring candidates for bachelor's and master's degrees in Journalism and Public Relations, will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Argue Plaza (grassy area between Pardee Tower and Alumni House). Report to Argue Plaza immediately after the main ceremony is over. If you are not attending the main ceremony, please arrive at Argue Plaza no later than 10 a.m. Seating is on a first-come basis. Seats cannot be saved after 10:15 a.m. — all unoccupied seats must be released for other guests at 10:15 a.m. The ceremony will be under a tent, so you and your guests will be out of the sun. The ceremony will end around 12:30 p.m. Immediately following, there will be a reception for you and your guests.

Grad Fair
The USC Grad Fair will be held outside the university Bookstore (or inside on the first floor if weather dictates) on the following dates and times:


Tuesday, February 17th: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Wednesday, February 18th: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Thursday, February 19th: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Cap & Gown
Ordering, measurement and distribution of the regalia will take place in the University Bookstore, 3rd Floor, beginning April 29 through May 15.

  • Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Friday, May 15, 7 a.m. - 12 noon

Rental charges for academic regalia must be paid at the time of measurement. These charges are as follows:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Cap and Gown only) $39.99
  • Master’s Degree (Cap, Gown and Hood) $49.99
  • Doctor’s Degree (Cap, Gown and Hood) $69.99

Graduate students, please note the color of your hood while ordering regalia.

  • MA Communication, Communication Management, Global Communication: White
  • MCM Communication Management: Crimson
  • MPD Public Diplomacy: Peacock Blue
  • MA Journalism (All programs): White
  • Ph.D. Communication: Dark Blue

Parking
Parking on campus is FREE on Commencement day, but spaces fill up quickly. Additional parking is available at the Parking Center located on the corner of Jefferson Boulevard and Grand Avenue. Trams will be available to take guests from the Parking Center to the main ceremony. For more information click here.
